Mário Miguel Azevedo Cerqueira holds a PhD in Environmental Applied Sciences from the University of Aveiro (1999) and a graduation in Environmental Engineering from the University of Aveiro (1992). From 2000 to 2001 he was Assistant Professor at the University of the Azores. Since 2001 he is Assistant Professor at the Department of Environment and Planning, University of Aveiro. He is also an Integrated Researcher at the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM), University of Aveiro. He has published 53 articles in WoS journals with more than 1500 citations and has a h-index of 23. He is co-author of 1 book and 2 book chapters and presented, as author or co-author, 89 communications in conferences. He completed the supervison of 2 PhD students, as main advisor, and supervised or co-supervised 29 MSc students. He was the coordinator of 1 research project funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Tehcnology and team member of 21 national and european reserch projects. He acted as expert evaluator of research project proposals submitted to 4 European funding agencies.
