Estefanía Delgado-Pinar defended the thesis the 16th of January of 2016 and after that, she started a postdoctoral contract in the Molecular Science Institute in Valencia (Spain), in which she performed teaching tasks in the degree of Inorganic Chemistry. She was also collaborating with CEU Cardenal Herrera University to teach the theory and/or practices of several subjects (analytical techniques, inorganic chemistry and organic chemistry) in English within the Pharmacy (second year) degree. During the time expended in Valencia, her main research lines were focused on the synthesis of nanoparticles of different chemical nature, varying their properties like shape and size and studying the effect of these changes on their solubility in aqueous solution, its spectroscopic properties, its external functionalization with organic molecules, etc. On the other hand, the applicant of this aid developed a great experience in the design, synthesis and study of molecules capable of detecting charged species, be they metals or small molecules. The applicant has been able to mix solid state and organic chemistry to develop hybrid inorganic-organic structures for different final applications, showing a high level of interdisciplinary as can be seen in the published papers. The researcher had improved her knowledge in several techniques acquired during the thesis project. The skills acquired in photochemistry and photophysics of aromatic compounds conjugated with polyamines, electron microscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance are highlighted, being even an authorized user in the last two within the Central Experimentation Services of the University of Valencia. In addition, the completion of the thesis in the group of Supramolecular Chemistry of the University of Valencia has allowed her to participate in different autonomic and national projects, being one of her tasks the management of workshops or the promotion of activities for scientific dissemination. Since September 2017, the applicant has started a post-doctoral contract in the chemistry department at the University of Coimbra for studying host-guest interactions between coumarins and cucurbiturils by spectroscopic techniques among others and has started the synthesis of a new family of compounds based in bithiophenes. She has improved her skills in the photophysical characterization of supramolecular entities by using fast-kinetic (fs-ps) techniques. Nowdays, She is a Junior Researcher under a CEEC 2018 contract (CEECIND/04136/2018).
