Tiago Correia has an impressive academic background in biomedical sciences, with a BSc and MSc from the University of Beira Interior, followed by a PhD in Biochemistry from the same institution. During his PhD, he developed new biomaterials for tissue engineering applications, including 3D printed scaffolds with bactericidal activity and plasma treated structures that promote vascular tissue regeneration. He also co-authored several relevant works related to biomaterials. In addition to his academic achievements, Tiago has gained valuable industry experience, having worked for a year and two months at LifeWell Pharmaceutical & Healthcare enterprise, where he learned about positioning new products in the market and industry regulation. This experience helped him develop soft skills that will be useful in the translation of scientific achievements to the market. Since 2017, Tiago's postdoctoral research at COMPASS RG in CICECO at University of Aveiro, has focused on developing silica-based platforms for cell surface engineering and cell therapies, with his work being published in high-impact factor journals. He has also played a key role in coordinating and managing the InterLynk project, which was successfully financed with a budget of 6 Million euros. Throughout his career, Tiago has also demonstrated a commitment to teaching and mentoring, having collaborated in lab classes of biochemistry and biomaterials at the University of Beira Interior, as well as supervising and co-supervising undergraduate and MSc students. At University of Aveiro, Tiago got his first supervision of a PhD student from the Portuguese MIT Program. He is now co-supervising a PhD student from University of Loirraine on the Heterogeneous design of bioinks. Since 2019, Tiago has collaborated in lab classes of Microbial Biotechnology and Biocatalysts. He has also been invited to review papers for prestigious journals, namely, Material Today Bio, Biofabrication and to evaluate Switzerland's national proposal (invitation made by Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)). So far, the candidate production is resumed in 28 publications on international peer-reviewed journals that resulted on an h-index of 18 and 879 citations and 2 invited oral presentations.
