Ângela Almeida (AA) graduated in Biochemistry in 2013 (14/20) and in 2014 completed a master's degree in Toxicology and Ecotoxicology (16/20), both from the University of Aveiro (UA). After her master's degree, she was hired for one year (2014 - 2015) as a scientific fellow (reference: BI/CESAM/DBio/RF/2014) by the Department of Biology at UA. In 2016, she began a doctoral scholarship awarded by FCT (reference: SFRH/BD/110218/2015, DOI 10.54499/COVID/BD/151581/2021) at UA, allowing her to obtain a PhD degree in Biology and Ecology of Global Change, completed in 2023, with the thesis "Pharmaceutical drugs under present and future climatic scenarios: what are the toxicological effects to marine invertebrate species?". AA has published 32 articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals, with a special focus on the area of Environmental Toxicology, including a part on Analytical Chemistry. These articles are present in journals in Q1 (indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded of Clarivate Analytics' Web of Science) and are also the result of foreign collaborations such as with IDAEA, Instituto de Diagnóstico Ambiental y Estudios del Agua - CSIC (Barcelona, Spain ). In addition, AA published 2 book chapters in international scientific journals and 1 article in a national journal. AA has an h-index of 21 and 1170 citations (1015 excluding self-citations), with an average of 36 citations per article (data from Clarivate Analytics' Web of Science Core Collection metrics, May 2023). AA participated in the presentation of 9 oral communications and 11 panel communications, in international and national congresses and other scientific/academic events such as workshops or forums (in the latter including a prize for best pitch in the session in which she participated). AA also participated in the execution of tasks in 3 scientific research projects and provided support to undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students in carrying out their work, which resulted in the publication of co-authored articles.
