Ana Rita Valente is a Speech and Language Therapist and Adjunct Professor at the School of Health Sciences of the University of Aveiro (ESSUA), and a collaborating member of the Institute of Electronics and Informatics Engineering of Aveiro (IEETA). Ana Rita Valente holds a PhD in Psychology (2018), a Master’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences (2009), and a degree in Speech Therapy (2007) from the University of Aveiro. She also has a European Specialization in Fluency Disorders. Ana Rita Valente works in the field of Health Sciences, with a particular emphasis on Speech and Language Therapy. She is a researcher with an interdisciplinary profile, with a specific focus on fluency disorders, speech assessment, vocal ageing, and AI-based tools for communication health. She has authored and co-authored assessment instruments, screening tools, digital applications, and clinical protocols that are currently used in health and educational settings. Ana Rita Valente has published articles in international peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, clinical manuals, and indexed conference papers, with contributions spanning stuttering, pragmatics, phonology, ageing voice, aphasia, and digital health. She has participated in several funded and non-funded research projects, including European and international initiatives, where she played roles in protocol design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination. She is engaged in the scientific community as a guest editor, peer reviewer, and organizer of national and international conferences and webinars. She has delivered invited talks, supervised master’s and PhD students, and contributed as a lecturer to professional training in Speech and Language Therapy. Her work has a societal impact through community-based screening, clinical tools, educational games, and public awareness initiatives.
