Mónica Santos. Completed her PhD in Biomedical Sciences (2007) by the University of Porto, Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar and her B.Sc. in Biology (2000) by the University of Porto, Faculty of Sciences. She is a Researcher in the University of Coimbra, Center for Neurosciences and Cell Biology. She published 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Organized scientific and public outreach events and kept a continuous scientific formation by attending top scientific meetings, participating in workshops and conferences and got training in soft skills. She co-supervised 2 PhD theses and 4 MSc theses and supervised several postgraduate students. She has received 8 awards and/or honors. Participates and/or participated as Principal Investigator in 4 projects and as Team member in 12 other projects. She earned 3 highly competitive fellowships, 1 PhD and 2 Pos-doctoral fellowships. Works in the area of Medical and Health Sciences with emphasis on Basic Medicine and Neurosciences. In her professional activities interacted with 309 collaborators, including collaborations from the non-academic sector (notably hospitals) and overseas (USA) with co-authorship of scientific papers.
