Daniela Tavares is a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Lusófona University, where she also completed her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Clinical and Health Psychology. She additionally holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Sciences from the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon. Currently, she is a doctoral fellow funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), conducting the project “Infant neurobehavioral regulatory profiles and symptoms of developmental and mental health problems at 2 years of age: a longitudinal study”. She was awarded a Fulbright Research Grant (2025/2026) to conduct part of her research at the Cognitive, Affect, and Psychophysiology Lab at Virginia Tech (USA), under the supervision of Professor Martha Ann Bell. Her professional experience includes a clinical internship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Lisbon North University Hospital Center and participation as a research assistant in projects on perinatal mental health and infant development. In addition, she has over a decade of experience teaching physical education, psychomotor development, motor skills, and swimming to infants, children, and adolescents, supporting development from as early as 5 months of age through 18 years. She has presented at national and international conferences and is first author of a paper published in Midwifery. Her work focuses on perinatal mental health and infant development, reflecting a strong commitment to advancing research in these fields.
