António Malheiro is Full Professor at the Mathematics Department of NOVA School of Science and Technology (Lisbon, Portugal),
as well as a member of the Research Center for Mathematics and Applications (NOVA Math). He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from
the University of Lisbon and a Habilitation from NOVA University of Lisbon. He was the Director of the research center NOVA
Math, with more than 100 researchers, in the period 2018-2022. Since 2022, he is the President of the Portuguese National
Mathematics Committee. Malheiro is also a member of the Faculty Council of NOVA FCT. He has attracted competitive funding
from national funding bodies, and he has coordinated one research project with several hired postdocs and researchers, and
acted as a team member in 5 other. Malheiro has a wide experience in supervision with completed 5 postdoctoral fellows, 3
Ph.D. students, and 2 Master students. He also supervised several other research grants for young students. His research interests
include Algebra and Combinatorics, namely in Groups and Semigroups, Algebraic Combinatorics, Cryptography, Coding theory,
and Computational Algebra. Malheiro has published 39 research papers in top journals in the area.
