The main topics of my research are Gravity and General Relativity. I am interested in two lines of research: - Gravitational waves from compact objects (black holes, neutron stars, wormholes). In particular, I am interested in the analysis of the characteristic frequencies of the ringdown phase (quasinormal modes) of these objects, and how signatures of alternative theories of gravity can appear in them. The main objective is the comparison of the theoretical predictions with astrophysical observations (in particular the ones from LIGO/VIRGO), which could provide strong constraints on the modifications of General Relativity. - Black holes and solitons in higher dimensional gravity theories. In particular, I am interested in the construction and analysis of solutions describing stationary configurations in theories related with Supergravity. Apart from studying the properties of these solutions, the objective is to use them in order to deepen the understanding of black hole thermodynamics, and find possible applications in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence and String Theory. In the course of my scientific career, I have published more than 30 scientific papers in high quality peer-reviewed international journals, being the first author in most of them. Including proceedings and other scientific documents, I have more than 40 publications. My work has received more than 500 citations (H-index=12, INSPIRE-HEP). I have presented my research in more than 30 national and international conferences, workshops and seminars. I have participated in 7 research projects. Currently, I am the PI of the project BL 1553/1-1 "Quasi-normal modes of rotating black holes and neutron stars: gravitational waves and AdS/CFT correspondence" funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft budgeted with 177400€ (01/06/2018-31/05/2020). I am also a member of the international project Cost Action CA16104 "Black holes, gravitational waves and fundamental physics" involving scientists all around the world, and of the DFG project Research Training Group 1620 "Models of Gravity" involving several German universities with the purpose of training PhD students in the topic of Gravity. As a member of the Field Theory Group in the University of Oldenburg, I have been supervisor of 2 Master Thesis and 1 Bachelor Thesis. I have been the advisor of 1 PhD Thesis (Christian Knoll, 3/6/2019, summa cum laude). As a member of the RTG 1620, one of my obligations is to contribute with support and scientific collaborations to the PhD students of the group. This has materialised in several high quality collaborations (see publications with students Fech Scen Khoo, Sindy Rocío Mojica, Xiao Yan Chew, Zahra Altaha Motahar, Sarah Kahlen). I have collaborated with more than 20 international researchers. For networking and publicising my scientific results, I travel regularly to international conferences, speak at workshops and seminars, and I carry out scientific stays and visits with collaborators. I have been invited to speak at several international conferences (3) and seminars (2). I have experience with scientific software, such as Maple/Mathematica. I perform numerical calculations using my own codes written in Fortran, Python, C, etc. For data analysis I make use of Gnuplot, R and Origin. I am teach in the University of Oldenburg “Quantum Structure of Matter” (5.04.471), during the summer semester of 2019 and 2020 (Bachelor degree Engineering Physics, in English).
