I have a degree in biology (2015) and a MsC in Toxicology and Ecotoxicology (2016) both at Biology department of the University of Aveiro, Portugal. After, I proceeded my studies in a split PhD grant (FCT grant: SFRH/BD/118294/2016 & COVID/BD/151720/2021) between CESAM & University of Aveiro and the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam where I was supervised by Mónica João de Barros Amorim and Cornelis A. M. Van Gestel. During my PhD I was six months abroad at the Vrije Universiteit of Amesterdam to gain and develop skills and extend my network (pursuing internalization). There, I learned and performed technics related with toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics (where I also learned how to work with Graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry and the Flame atomic absorption spectrometry techniques). During my career I participated in 2 European projects (FP7 Large Scale Project-SUN: SUstainable Nanotechnologies and H2020-NMBP-14-2017-NanoinformaTIX - Development and Implementation of a Sustainable Modelling Platform for NanoInformatics) as a research grant holder. In total, I published 11 papers in peer reviewed international journals, 7 of them resulting from my PhD (8 as first author) and participated in 7 events both with oral and poster presentations. I highlight 3 publications with main focus in Toxicokinetics, Toxicokinetics- Toxicodynamics and the Full life cycle test published in: “Science of the Total Environment”- IF: 10.75, DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.scitotenv.2022.159868; “Environmental Science Nano”- IF: 8.131, DOI: DOI: 10.1039/d1en00338k; “Chemosphere”-IF: 7.086, DOI: 10.1016/j.chemosphere.2021.132751. I have great passion for science and have enriched my knowledge over the years with attendance of several advanced courses. Science dissemination is also a major interest where I always have been part of the integration of young undergraduate students in the laboratory. During my experience (11 years) I gained great knowledge in soil toxicity testing with Enchytraeus crypticus and performed the full battery of tests with these organisms (being also involved in the development and optimization of novel toxicity testing- full life cycle and Multigenerations) following standard guidelines or not. My research focus is on soil ecotoxicology, soil invertebrates, nanoecotoxicology and more recently in toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics, a great advantage for risk assessment.
