Francisco Coelho completed his Ph.D. in Biology (specialization in Microbiology) in 2013 in the University of Aveiro. His research interests broadly focus environmental microbiology and microbial ecology; characterizing the structural and functional composition of complex microbial communities under changing environmental conditions and in several habitats (e.g. estuarine sediment, deep-sea, marine sponges and aquacultures) and their impacts in ecosystem service or host physiology. Featured publications include, as a first author, articles in Global Change Biology, Molecular Ecology and Scientific Reports. He has also co-authored one article in Nature Communications.
