Dr. Pukazh Selvan Dharmakkon earned a Master´s degree in Physics from Scott Christian College, India in the year 2001. After finishing master of philosophy degree in Solid State Physics from the same institution in the year 2002 he involved in energy storage research at the Hydrogen Energy Center, Banaras Hindu University, India. From 2003 to 2011 Pukazh served in various projects and also carried out PhD works on the topic, "Investigations on the de/re-hydrogenation and direct synthesis of sodium aluminum hydride". After defending the doctoral works (Banaras Hindu University, India, 2011) Pukazh moved to Padova University, Italy and he investigated nanoconfined metal hydrides (2012-2013). Pukazh won FCT postdoctoral fellowship in the year 2012 and henceforth funded by FCT-Portugal, he is presently serving as Aux. Investigator in the centre for mechanical technology and automation (TEMA), department of mechanical engineering, University of Aveiro, Portugal. The current research interests of Pukazh are hydrogen storage, nanocatalysis and rechargeable batteries.
