Maria do Céu Santos Silva Costa, PhD, is a coordinating professor at the School of Health Sciences of Fernando Pessoa University (ESS-FP), where she coordinates the Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences and the Master's Degree in Specialised Laboratory Analysis - Biomedical Analysis branch. PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS - UP) and a Master's degree in Oncology from the same institution. She has a double degree in Pathological Anatomy, Cytology and Thanatology (IPP-ESTSP) and in Microbiology (Portuguese Catholic University). Integrated member of the "Experimental Pathology and Therapeutics" research group of CI-IPOP and collaborating member DO RISE-Health and I3D Center of the Fernando Pessoa Education and Culture Foundation. She has over 20 years of teaching experience in higher education, having taught courses in the areas of Pathological Anatomy, Histology, Immunohistochemistry, and Laboratory Techniques. She has published several scientific articles in indexed journals and presented numerous papers at national and international conferences, with a special focus on oncology, oral health, and tumour biomarkers. She acts as a scientific reviewer for several international journals. She is a member of several scientific and educational committees at ESS-FP and sits on the jury for public examinations for the awarding of academic titles.
