Mariam Kholany is currently a PhD student/fellow at the research group "Process and Product Applied Thermodynamics" (PATh), CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materials, University of Aveiro, Portugal, after being awarded a PhD grant from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Her major interests are the development of integrated processes for the purification of pharmaceuticals and bio-active compounds and the biorefinery concept associated to marine biomass, envisioning new natural-bio-based products. Obtained her BSc degree in Biotechnology from University of Aveiro, Portugal, In 2015, and her MSc degree in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology from the same institution in 2017. Mariam Kholany has published 9 articles in international peer reviewed journals. She participated in 18 oral and 18 poster communications in national and international conferences. She completed the experimental supervision of 7 students. She is a team member in 3 R&D projects. She has participated in 5 entrepreneurship and acceleration programs. She has been involved in the organization of 1 international conference, 2 workshops, 4 general public exhibitions and was responsible for the management of a weekly lecture cycle for 2 years.
