I am a PhD candidate in Social Psychology with backgrounds in International Development (MA) and International Business (BSc). This interdisciplinary background engages me with interconnected issues such as the effect of contemporary neoliberal capitalism on the ecological crisis, immigration and social movements at different levels (international, national and local). I am working on a European project - Smart BeejS as an Early Stage Researcher, where I use an integrated analysis of social psychology and political ecology to examine how the citizenship or political participation(s) of people in a Portuguese town is shaped by the representations of their political subjectivities. My academic research is a critical reflection of my professional experiences in city council consultancy, environmental political actions and social marketing. It enmeshes with my personal trajectory reflections in moving between nations and territories that have different geographical, social, political and cultural configurations, together with my attempt to make sense of its interrelatedness.
