PATRÍCIA GOUVEIA is an artist, designer, scholar and curator with more than twenty years of research experience in, arts, design, gaming and interaction. She has been working in Interactive Arts and Design since the 1990s. Her research focuses on games, playful media, interactive fiction, digital arts and speculative feminism as places of convergence. She is an Associate Professor with habilitation at University of Lisbon Fine Arts Faculty (Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, FBAUL) and senior researcher at ITI, Institute of Interactive Technologies at LARSyS, Laboratory of Robotics and Engineering Systems (ITI/LARSyS) at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in Lisbon. Co-creator of the project Game Arts and Gender Equity (GAGE 2020-2023) and co-curator of the Playmode exhibitions in four major cities in Brazil (CCBB 2019-2023: Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Brasília) and in Lisbon, Portugal (MAAT 2016-2019). She was Associate Professor in the department of Interactive Media (Games and Animation) at Noroff University College (2014-16) in Kristiansand, Norway. Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at Nova University (Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, Universidade Nova de Lisboa FCSH/UNL, 2007-14) and Assistant Professor at the Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies (Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, ULHT, 2008-13) in Lisbon. From 2006 to 2014 Patrícia edited the Mouseland blog. In 2010 she published the book Digital Arts and Games, Aesthetics and Design of the Ludic Experience (Ed. Universitárias Lusófonas), a synthesis of her doctoral thesis. She has published several book chapters and scientific articles. 1995 Second prize IBM - Leonardo da Vinci with a research school project about a painting from Paula Rego, a portuguese painter living in London. This project aims to research the use of new technologies in the study of a painting, Lisbon.
