Emanuel has obtained the MSc degree in Chemical Engineering (Classification 19/20) from University of Aveiro, Portugal, in September 2016. His MSc thesis entitled "Modelling the Solid-Liquid Equilibria of Deep Eutectic Solvents" was developed at Fakultät Bio- und Chemieingenieurwesen der Technischen Universität Dortmund (Germany) and demonstrated the first efforts to describe Deep Eutectic Solvents using associative EoSs. Over the following year, he worked as a research fellow in a project funded by PARTEX Oil & Gas, aiming at the CO2 sequestration using glycol ethers, at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials, before starting his PhD in September 2017. His PhD project gave him the opportunity to continue to develop and pursuit new skills and expertise in the field of applied thermodynamics, modelling and simulation. The project was developed in a partnership between University of Aveiro (under the supervision of Prof. Dr. João A. P. Coutinho and Dr. Germán Pérez Sánchez), and the Khalifa University of Science and Technology (under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lourdes F. Vega) where he was a visiting graduate research assistant. In July 2021, Emanuel joined Procter & Gamble UK as a post-doctoral researcher, before becoming a full hire in April 2022. Currently Emanuel is a Modelling & Simulation Scientist at Procter & Gamble - Corporate Functions R&D - Data & Modelling Sciences. Mainly interested in: Modelling/Simulation for both process and product; Applied Thermodynamics, Chemical Engineering Design; Chemical Reactors; Separation Processes; Enhanced Oil Recovery, Carbon Capture and Storage Technologies
