Sayedreza Jafarzadeh is a dedicated Ph.D. student at the University of Porto, where he specializes in Civil Engineering with a focus on Hydraulics, Water Resources, and the Environment. Engaging with FEUP's research community has enriched his learning experience, allowing him to share insights and contribute to advancing knowledge in water resources management. He has actively participated in projects concerning sediment transport in the Tâmega basin and sedimentation in the Torrão reservoir. His proficiency extends to hydrology and hydraulic engineering software such as SWAT, HEC-RAS, SSIIM, Iber, QGIS, E-Panet, and Python. Since January 2023, he has been involved in a project in collaboration with FEUP/EDP, focusing on studying sedimentation patterns in the Douro reservoirs and their potential impact on coastal sediment movement. He has showcased his research findings at esteemed conferences, including the 40th International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) World Conference in Vienna.
