Joana Pinto Oliveira is a PhD student in Chemical Engineering at the University of Aveiro and CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materials. She holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (2024) and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (2022) from the same university. Her master’s thesis, developed in collaboration with CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials, focused on the development of polysaccharide-based encapsulation techniques to enhance the optical stability of natural pigments from microalgae, targeting food applications. Joana has co-authored a scientific article published in an international peer-reviewed journal. Her research interests lie at the intersection of chemical engineering, marine biorefinery, and sustainable innovation, with a particular focus on advancing bio-based materials
