André Filipe Rodrigues Guarda received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrotechnical Engineering from Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, Portugal, in 2013 and 2016, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal, in 2021. He has been a researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações since 2011, where he currently holds a Post-Doctoral position. His main research interests include multimedia signal processing and coding, with particular focus on point cloud coding with deep learning. He has authored several publications in top conferences and journals in this field, and is actively contributing to the standardization efforts of JPEG and MPEG on learning-based point cloud coding.
