Miguel Barbosa, MD, Oncologist, got a degree in Medicine in 2000 at the Medical Faculty of the University of Porto and two Post-graduations in Pain and in Palliative Care by the Medical Faculty of University of Porto and the Portuguese Catholic University, respectively. Currently, he is the Head of the Medical Oncology Department at Centro Hospitalar Universitário de São João, Porto. He was the Coordinator of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro Outpatient Cancer Centre at Centro Hospitalar de Trás-os-montes e Alto Douro EPE, and the founding member of the Breast, Gynaecologic and Head and Neck Cancer Clinics from the same institution. He was actively involved on the accreditation process of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro Medical Centre by Joint Commission International (2010-2013) and was responsible for the relation between the Portuguese Oncology Society and ESMO´s Young Oncology Committee (2014-2015). He co-authors nine publications and is member of several national and international societies, namely: European Head and Neck Society, Portuguese Medical Association, European Society of Medical Oncology, Portuguese Oncology Society, Portuguese Senology Society.
