Susana Henriques is currently Resident Collaborator (Researcher) at the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG) where her main activity is related to geologic mapping of the Portuguese territory. She has expertise in different areas, particularly igneous and metamorphic petrology, mineral chemistry, geochemistry (major and trace elements) and isotope geochronology (U-Pb ID-TIMS and Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd and d18 O isotopes). She also performs microbeam chemical analysis by electron microprobe, estimates of P-T conditions using conventional and modern methods (such as Perple-X) and uses ArcGIS as a mapping tool. She investigated volcanic rocks from Santo Antão Island (Cape Verde) during her Masters at University of Lisbon and the Precambrian basement from Portugal during her Ph.D. at University of Coimbra, obtaining the maximum classifications. She participated in several national and international projects including IGCP-648 (Supercontinent Cycle and Global Geodynamics) from UNESCO and Geo-FPI related to the Iberian Pyrite Belt. The main outputs include publications in international journals and conference abstracts. She has received 1 international award (Lithos Journal), 1 international grant (European Commission), 1 national honor (University of Lisbon) and 1 national Ph.D. fellowship (Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology). Her activities include oral communications in international and national events; consulting in the area of Environmental Impact Assessment; reviewer of international and national journals; member of national and international associations and of the LNEG Scientific Council.
