I am an archaeologist and archaeological scientist with degrees from Sapienza Università di Roma and UCL Institute of Archaeology. My research involves the study and the preservation of cultural heritage and I am specialised in ancient and historical pyrotechnologies, with specific expertise in glass making and metallurgy. I am especially interested in the history and archaeology of early modern alchemy, which constituted the topic of my PhD. I am currently a research fellow at the VICARTE research unit in Lisbon, where I am part of the ChromAz project investigating the history of Portuguese azulejos heritage.
