Adriana received her Master degree in Materials Engineering from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, in 2019. Her master dissertation titled: "Production and characterization of thermoresponsive magnetic membranes" focused on the development of dual-stimuli composite membranes composed of hybrid thermoresponsive microgels for magnetic hyperthermia applications. The work developed during her thesis resulted in a published article titled: "Incorporation of Dual-Stimuli Responsive Microgels in Nanofibrous Membranes for Cancer Treatment by Magnetic Hyperthermia". Currently she has enrolled as a research fellow in the Soft and Biofunctional Materials Group at CENIMAT|i3N inserted in the project DREaMM - Engineering of Dual-stimuli Responsive nanofibrous Magnetic Membranes (PTDC/CTM-CTM/30623/2017), under the supervision of Dr. Paula Soares. Her current research focuses on the development of electrospun polymeric membranes, incorporated with thermosensitive PNIPAAm microgels and iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles for controlled drug delivery and magnetic hyperthermia. In 2020 her work was selected for an oral presentation at nanoPT2020 titled: "Production and characterization of thermoresponsive magnetic membranes". Her main research interests are thermoresponsive microgels, magnetic hyperthermia, colloidal electrospinning and drug delivery.
