Verónica Rocha completed her PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering in 2024 at the Centre of Biological Engineering (CEB), University of Minho. Her doctoral research, "Immobilization of Eco-friendly Nanoparticles on Different Materials: Towards Promising Nanoplatforms for Pollutant Removal from Water", focused on sustainable material-based strategies for environmental remediation, integrating nanotechnology, surface functionalization and green chemistry principles. She holds a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (2013) and a MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Porto (2015). She is currently an Invited Research Assistant at the Centre for Textile Science and Technology (2C2T), University of Minho, where her research focuses on the development of algae-based biomaterials for textile functionalization and natural dyeing, within the PRR Blue Bioeconomy Pact project. Her research profile is strongly interdisciplinary, spanning biochemistry, nanotechnology, biomaterials, bioremediation, materials science and sustainability. She is the author of 17 peer-reviewed papers in international journals (7 as first author), 2 book chapters, and has presented her work through multiple oral and poster communications at national and international conferences.
