Daliany Maria Farinon was born in Curitiba, Brazil, in 1991 and obtained her italian citizenship in 2022. She is a resident in Covilhã, Portugal. Graduated in Chemistry from the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná in 2019, specialized in environmental engineering and management from the Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa in 2023 and obtained a Master's in Industrial Chemistry in 2024, from Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI). During her undergraduate studies, in addition to participating in extracurricular activities, she was awarded a teaching initiation scholarship, in which the activities aimed to introduce the student to the school environment, prepare them for the profession and seek to improve basic education. In the 2017/2018 academic year, she carried out her Final Project in the area of representativeness in the sciences. Between 2019 and 2021, as part of the specialization course, she was a technical resident at the environmental agency of the state of Paraná (Brazil), where the main responsibilities were focused on environmental licensing of gas stations, heavy vehicle washers, storage of hazardous substances, treatment and correct disposal of effluents, conducting inspections, team discussions on processes and licensing and communication/attendance to the public. During her master's degree, she carried out research into the electrochemical oxidation treatment of wastewater, namely wastewater and textiles, with the aim of reusing the treated effluent in the hydroponic cultivation of lettuce and as an anti-incrusting agent in the treatment of membranes, respectively. She is currently a Research Fellow of “Lusitano - Mobilizing Agenda for Business Innovation in the Textile and Clothing Industry in Portugal”, developing her research in the Environmental Electrochemistry Laboratory of the Chemistry Department at UBI. The research work within the scope of the project aims to explore and study the influence of the different experimental conditions applied in electrochemical oxidation tests with the aim of removing organic load and/or generating hypochlorite, and she is one of those responsible for carrying out the analyses and interpreting the data obtained. She is also co-supervising the degree project of a student in the 1st Cycle of Industrial Chemistry at UBI.
