Filipa Amorim is a researcher in the field of energy, environmental and resource economics at National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG) Resource Economics Unit. Her research is focused in planning sustainable energy systems transitions under competitive and low carbon strains. Her most recent research includes work on climate services, competitiveness of hydrogen, lithium, materials for decarbonization, and water use for low-carbon energy technologies. Her work has also focused to assessment of future impacts of renewable energy in the Portuguese economy, including social, environmental and technological aspects. Over the past 15 years she has participated in several national and international projects with utilities, government bodies and universities, in the areas of energy markets, energy regulatory issues and in techno-economic modelling tools, conducting research as well as leading project management of small teams. She holds a PhD (2014) in Sustainable Energy Systems, sub-field of Energy Planning and Modelling, from Engineering (IST) and Business and Economics (ISEG) Schools of Technical University of Lisbon, under MIT Portugal Program. She graduated in Economics at the Faculty of Economics University of Coimbra and obtained a post-graduation in Communication and Image at the Lisbon School of Creativity (IADE). After her PhD, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Sustainability Research (CENSE) at the Faculty of Science and Technology from NOVA University of Lisbon (2019/2018), at the Smart City Innovation Lab (SCIL) at Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics (2017/2018) and at the Centre for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research (IN+) at Technical University of Lisbon (2014/2017). In her most recent research activity, she is conducting an assessment of the Portuguese reserves of lithium in the European context and in the Portuguese economy and mapping the sustainable hydrogen potential in Portugal. Previously, she developed techno-economic modelling, integrating seasonal and climate data in the C2PeTIMES_PT, developed for the Portuguese electricity system case study within the project CLIM2POWER - Translating climate data into power plants operational guidance (2017-2020). Prior to that, she supported the coordination of Business Modelling Work Package for the inteGRIDy H2020 Project on smart grids European pilot experiences (2017-2020) developing innovative business modelling tools (Smart Business Modeler) on patterns for the energy markets and contributing to market design and regulatory state-of-the-art revision in EU. She has published 7 articles in international journals, 1 section of books, co-organized and presented her work in several scientific international invited seminars and conferences and she has an h-index in Scopus of 5. Moreover, she has been invited lecturer in two Master Thesis Programs and has accompanied student¿s research works in transdisciplinary areas of Social and Environmental Sciences with emphasis on Economics and Business.
