Holds a degreed on Nutritional Sciences (October 2006) from the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences and a BSc on Astronomy (September 2014) from the Faculty of Sciences, both from the University of Porto. These degrees provided a strong foundation on nutrition sciences, physics, mathematics, and computer sciences. Completed her PhD on Sustainable Chemistry (July 2017) where she specialized on the reuse of agroindustry by-products to improve food nutrition/health properties and developed skills on food and analytical chemistry, sensory analysis, nutrition, food technology, and mathematical modelling. During her PhD she had the opportunity to work in the Cereal Technology and Process Engineering Research Group of the Institute of Brewing and Beverage Technology from the Technical University of Munich. With this exchange she was granted a European Doctoral degree by University of Porto. The work developed at LAQV/REQUIMTE: Bromatology and Hydrology Laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto (FFUP) allowed to consolidate her knowledge on analytical techniques and sensory analysis, and also develop mathematical modelling and programming skills. Since 2019, she also had the opportunity to explore the academic path as an invited assistant at FCNAUP for Sensory Analysis (Gastronomic Sciences MSc) and Sensory Analysis and New Product Development (Consumer Sciences and Nutrition MSc) courses. Work developed independently and from collaborations resulted in: i) a total of 31 publications; ii) author/co-author of 33 communications in national and international conferences; iii) supervision of foreign PhD students and MSc students; iv) participation as a research member on national projects, and on international networks, and v) visiting an international laboratory with a total of 6 months.
