The research is located in the scientific area of Mathematics, with an emphasis on Mathematical Analysis, Numerical Analysis and Computational Methods for Partial Differential Equations and Ordinary Differential Equations, with applications related to the Mathematics of Fluid Mechanics. More specifically, development and analysis of one-dimensional models (in particular obtained by Cosserat theory) for incompressible Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids, considering the flow of a fluid in straight and curved tubes with a circular section. Fluid-structure interaction problems. Applications to hemodynamics. At the moment, ongoing scientific research is concentrated on the flow of fluids in curved tubes with a circular section, on the problem of fluid-structure interaction and, also, on problems with integral differential equations.
