Luís Alves is a Researcher at the Bioenergy and Biorefineries Unit (UBB) at National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG), with a PhD in Microbiology from the Faculty of Sciences – University of Lisbon, Portugal. Has experience in: Research/characterization of new microorganisms and enzymes; Application of Fermentation Technologies: SHF, SSF, CBP, batch or continuous, for the production of bioproducts (bioethanol, bioH2, lactic acid, carotenoids, biosurfactants, enzymes, etc.); Application of Clean Technologies for Fossil Fuels: Biodesulfurization.
