Maria Teresa Ferreira is an Architect currently working as a researcher in IST in the Circular EcoBIM project. Teresa, has circa 10 years of work experience in different offices around the world namely in London – PM Devereux, Lisbon Saraiva + Associados. She worked in São Paulo at the Norwegian architecture company ‘Space Group Arkitekter’ as well as in Portugal, at ‘Ateliermob’ in Lisbon and ‘AND-RÉ’ in Oporto. Teresa, completed her Master in Architecture (MArch) at the Faculty of Architecture, Technical University of Lisbon (FA-UTL) in May of 2012 with an architectural project and theoretical thesis under the theme "Build in the Built: Alcântara HUB; New Urban Center Multifunctional and Sustainable". Also participated in the Erasmus Program at the Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy. Her ongoing commitment during academic years enabled her to be elected to represent the university at the SECIL University Awards 2012 and was one of the top 4 finalists at the final of ARCHIPRIX Portugal 2013, which was distinguished in Venice Biennale 2014 - “HOMELAND. News from Portugal” - “Architecture Awards. The new Portuguese talents distinguished by ARCHIPRIX.” Between January 2016 and March 2021 worked as a Senior Architect and BIM Manager in international practice Saraiva + Associados in their head offices in Lisbon, working globally in all the International offices around the globe. From her experience would like to highlight the project of the National Research of Oncology Centre in Astana Kazakstan which was responsible for managing the architecture team, also designer and BIM Coordinate, this project was awarded with BIM D’Or in France in the category of Best International project. BIM Manager of Montijo International Airport for VINCI Grand Projects, working as an Architect and also doing BIM Management for VCGP, responsible for BIM coordination of all teams. She moved to London in January 2014 and worked for PM Devereux. The focus of this office was mainly healthcare, laboratories, and infrastructures. She started working on an expansion for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, followed by Chase Farm – Master Plan, new Addenbrookes Hospital – the University of Cambridge, UCLH (University College of London Hospital) – New Operating Theatres. While working in London she got certified by ARB (Architects Registration Board) United Kingdom since October 2014; RIBA Chartered Architect Member (Royal Institute of British Architects) since October 2015; CITB (Construction Industry Card Scheme) - Health, Safety and Environmental test for Managers and Professionals - Construction Site.
