Ana Cristina Santos Abraão holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Production Chains - From Fork to Farm, a doctoral program affiliated with the University of Minho (UMinho) and the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). Her academic journey began with the completion of a bachelor's degree in Food Science in 2008, followed by the successful attainment of a master's degree in Food Safety in 2010. In the interim between the master's and doctoral degrees, Ana made significant contributions to the field of food science as a researcher, actively participating in various projects in the food sector. Her research primarily focused on the microbiological, chemical, and nutritional composition of various food matrices. Notable projects she contributed to include EUROLEGUME (Improving legume growth in Europe through sustainable cultivation for protein supply in food and feed), the Sambucus Fresh project (Enhancing productivity and quality in the production of fresh and frozen elderberries), and the Nutridouro Project (Crystallization techniques for fruits and vegetables without sucrose or with reduced sucrose content and impregnation with healthy components). Furthermore, Ana actively engaged in supervising laboratory activities conducted by undergraduate and master's students, providing guidance and support in the execution of different analytical procedures. Her commitment to education extended to her role as the Coordinator of the Students Exchange Program of the International Association of Agriculture Students (IAAS) from 2007 to 2008, further demonstrating her dedication to academic growth. Currently, Ana serves as a Senior Technician in the VIIAFOOD project. Additionally, she assumes the role of co-supervisor for a Master's student in the 2nd Cycle of Food Engineering, guiding her in the development of academic and professional skills. Throughout her career, Ana has made several contributions to the academic community, with nine articles published in reputable international journals. She has been a dynamic presence at numerous national and international conferences, disseminating her work through oral presentations and posters.
