Beatriz Lopo Ferreira holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Bioengineering concluded at the University of Beira Interior in 2021 and 2024, respectively. During her master's thesis, titled "Parkinson's Disease Tremor Assessment using Inertial sensors", Beatriz focused on the tremor associated with Parkinson's Disease, doing a systematic literature review on this topic, idealizing a mobile app for data collection and implementing machine learning methods for the evaluation of this symptom. Beatriz is currently a member of LASIGE and is pursuing a PhD in Informatics at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. This PhD is focused on the evaluation of multiple symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease through data collected using a wearable device, for the diagnosis and monitoring of the disease. Furthermore, her interests include the development of medical devices and the analysis of biosignals.
