Manuel Matos is a Biochemist with complementary expertise in Biotechnology, namely in bioengineering of affinity ligands. He completed his MSc in Biotechnology in 2015 at FCT-UNL (Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia Universidade Nova de Lisboa ) and his BSc in Biochemistry in 2013 at FCTUC (Faculdade de Ciencias e Tecnologia Universidade de Coimbra). Manuel worked for 2 years on iBET's pilot plant unit, hence he has knowledge both in the upstream and downstream of recombinant proteins at a pilot scale. He is currently a PhD student at the Biomolecular Engineering Lab at UCIBIO and he is working on finding novel purification systems towards high-value biopharmaceuticals.
