Iryna Alves is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting and Auditing of ISCAL (Lisbon School of Economics & Management, Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, Portugal) and an Invited Assistant Professor in the Department of Management of ISEG (Lisbon School of Economics & Management, ULisboa, Portugal). She is a researcher of CSG - Research in Social Sciences and Management, specializing in the research group of Value and Finance. Her main areas of expertise are Incentives, Performance Measurement Systems and Behavioural Accounting. Having been born in Ukraine, Iryna began her academic career in Portugal in 2011. Since then, she has taught different undergraduate and postgraduate courses in accounting and finance. Iryna has been a unit coordinator in the various undergraduate programs at ISCAL and postgraduate program in Advanced Management Accounting at ISEG. Her teaching experience has broadened her expertise beyond traditional Management Accounting and ignited her desire to dive into cross-disciplinary research. Iryna completed her PhD in Management at ISEG with distinction and praise (2011- 2018). She has published in several academic journals in the field of accounting such as Accounting and Business Research, Journal of Management Control and Australian Accounting Review. Her research has been presented in more than 20 conferences and workshops and distinguished at various international scientific events. She has been invited as an ad-hoc reviewer by several national and international conferences and journals. Iryna also contributes to the development of the accounting academic community in Portugal. She is a board member of Grudis Accounting Research Network (since 2021). Her career in teaching and research is benefited by previous professional experience in the areas of Accounting and Financial Management, transversal to various sectors and activities.
