Tânia Vanessa Pinto (TVP) holds a PhD in Sustainable Chemistry (2017) conferred by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) in association with NOVA University of Lisbon, and a MSc (2012) and a BSc (2010) degrees in Chemistry conferred by FCUP. During her scientific career, she had the opportunity to be involved as team member in several R&D projects including FCT projects (5), a Mobilizing project (1) and a Bilateral Cooperation Programme (1), which gave her good skills and expertise in fields such as Materials Chemistry, Nanochemistry and Nanotechnology, and Technical, Functional and Smart Textiles. Along these years, she acquired a wide experience on designing novel fine-tuned hybrid nanomaterials (e.g., silica nanoparticles, polyoxometalates, transition metal oxides and carbon nanomaterials), ink formulations, and functional and smart textiles through scalable and eco-sustainable fabrication processes in a strong collaboration with academia, companies and centers for technology transfer. In particular, she achieved consolidated knowledge in distinct nanomaterials synthetic (e.g., sol-gel, coprecipitation, reverse microemulsion, hydro- and solvothermal, polyol, and microwave-assisted reaction) and functionalization (e.g., co-condensation, post-grafting and adsorption) routes; formulation of new inks (acrylic and polyurethane-based) with light and temperature sensing, X-ray protection and energy storage properties; fabrication of functional and intelligent textiles through coating technology (dip-pad-dry and screen-printing) and advanced fiber-spinning processes (dry-jet wet spinning and melt spinning); and materials characterization techniques (e.g., FTIR, RAMAN, XRD, XPS, UV-Vis, colorimetry, TGA, SEM, TEM, EDS, DLS, among others). She has also experience on heterogeneous catalysis (conversion of biomass-derived feedstocks into high added-value products and fuel additives). Recently, she produced flexible symmetric and asymmetric solid-state textile supercapacitors through the incorporation of carbon-based nanocomposites and achieved experience on electrochemical characterization. As senior researcher at InnovPlantProtect (InPP) CoLAB (Department of Formulations and Process Development), she designed innovative and sustainable bio-based solutions for crop protection. An interesting set of results has been published in international journals (8) with good Impact Factors (4.099 - 8.097), in a book chapter (1) and in a conference paper (1), and has been presented in national and international scientific meetings as oral (15) and poster (19) communications. In addition, she has been participating in European schools of Molecular Nanoscience (1) and Science Management (1), seminars and scientific dissemination events including lectures ("Nanoquímica e Nanotecnologia: Rumo aos Têxteis do Futuro") in high schools, several editions of Mostra da U.Porto and Dias Abertos FCUP, and supervising (1) and co-supervising (2) BSc students. She also hold a patent (provisional title: ¿Formulações para artigos de proteção radiológica, artigos de proteção radiológica, e seus usos¿. N/Ref. P1055.2 PP).
