Jean Christophe Giger

Member of the University Center for Research in Psychology (i.e., Centro Universitário de Investigação em Psicologia; CUIP) and assistant professor at the Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences (DPCE), of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences (FCHS), of the University of Algarve (Portugal). Jean-Christophe Giger studied and graduated at the University of Blaise Pascal (Clermont-Ferrand, France), where he obtained: a) a university degree in technology in business and marketing, b) a master degree and the title of Psychologist, and c) a Ph.D. in Social Psychology. Between 1997 and 2001, he taught Psychology at University of Blaise Pascal and in several Higher Education Institutions in the area of Healthcare and in professional training schools in Social Education. In 2001, he taught Psychology at the University of Caen (France) at the Department of Biology and the department of Hygiene, Work Safety and Environment. After defending his doctorate (2003), he made a research stay at the Institute of Psychology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw (Poland) for six months. He was then hired as a guest assistant professor, in the international master's degree MA: Psychology in English at the Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities (SWPS, Warsaw, Poland), and then in the international master's degree Warsaw International Studies in Psychology (WISP; University of Warsaw, Poland) where he taught Psychology and supervised several master theses. Simultaneously, he also worked in three marketing firms in Warsaw, as a consultant/researcher in Consumer Psychology. In 2009, he was hired as a guest auxiliar professor by the Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences (DPCE), of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences (FCHS), of the University of Algarve (Portugal). In 2020, he became an auxiliar professor at the DPCE (university of Algarve) through the process PrevPAP. ///////////////////////////////// Jean-Christophe Giger estudou e formou-se na Universidade de Blaise Pascal (Clermont-Ferrand, França), onde obteve: a) um diploma universitário em tecnologia em negócios e marketing, b) um mestrado e o título de Psicólogo, e c ) um Ph.D. em Psicologia Social. Entre 1997 e 2001, lecionou Psicologia na Universidade Blaise Pascal e em diversas Instituições de Ensino Superior na área da Saúde e em escolas de formação profissional em Educação Social. Em 2001, lecionou Psicologia na Universidade de Caen (França) no Departamento de Biologia e no Departamento de Higiene, Segurança do Trabalho e Meio Ambiente. Depois de defender o seu doutoramento (2003), fez uma estadia de investigação no Instituto de Psicologia da Academia Polaca de Ciências em Varsóvia (Polónia) durante seis meses. Foi então contratado como professor assistente convidado, no mestrado internacional MA: Psicologia em Inglês na Escola de Ciências Sociais e Humanas de Varsóvia (SWPS, Varsóvia, Polônia), e depois no mestrado internacional Estudos Internacionais de Varsóvia em Psicologia ( WISP; Universidade de Varsóvia, Polónia) onde lecionou Psicologia e orientou diversas teses de mestrado. Simultaneamente, trabalhou também em três empresas de marketing em Varsóvia, como consultor/investigador em Psicologia do Consumidor. Em 2009, foi contratado como professor auxiliar convidado pelo Departamento de Psicologia e Ciências da Educação (DPCE), da Faculdade de Ciências Humanas e Sociais (FCHS), da Universidade do Algarve (Portugal). Em 2020, tornou-se professor auxiliar na DPCE (Universidade do Algarve) através do processo PrevPAP.
