Research Scientist at the University of Luxembourg and principal investigator of the IMILUX Project funded by the Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR). She holds a PhD in Basic Psychology from the University of Minho, in collaboration with the Neuromodulation Center SpauldingLabuschange (Harvard Medical School), where she completed an internship in 2015. Additionally, she earned a Master's degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of Coimbra and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UFMG. She served as a researcher at the Neuropsychophysiology Laboratory of the University of Minho and led a project funded by the Bial Foundation. She also held positions as a university professor at Faculdade Pitágoras and as a teaching assistant in the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research Course at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Furthermore, she holds certifications in mindfulness techniques, clinical trials, as well as neuroimaging and neuromodulation techniques. She actively participates in scientific projects funded by FNR and FCT, and has taught various topics in Master's courses, having already formally supervised two students. She has presented numerous works at national and international scientific meetings and has published papers in high-impact international journals and books. Her primary research interests include immigration, non-pharmacological intervention, cognitive aging, cognitive neuroscience, neuroplasticity in aging, and mindfulness.
