EN: Nuno Casanova Martins is an Assistant Professor at the Instituto Superior de Estudos Interculturais e Transdisciplinares de Almada, Instituto Piaget, Portugal. His teaching and academic activity focus on Anatomy, Physiology, Resistance Training, Physical Activity and Health, and Exercise Sciences. His research examines the physiological, metabolic and behavioural mechanisms that link body composition, energy expenditure, physical activity, appetite, energy intake, exercise prescription and health-related outcomes. His doctoral and postdoctoral work at the University of Leeds focused on the influence of body composition and energy expenditure on the drive to eat under conditions of energy balance and dietary-induced weight loss. De forma mais ampla, interessa-se pela compreensão da variabilidade interindividual nas respostas ao exercício, à dieta e a intervenções comportamentais, particularmente no contexto da gestão do peso, da aptidão física, da saúde, do desempenho e da capacidade funcional ao longo da vida.
