Professor Joaquim Guerreiro Marques is an Assistant Professor in the Aerospace Engineering scientific area at the School of Science and Technology, University of Évora (UÉ), Portugal. He has also cooperated at the IDMEC—Institute of Mechanical Engineering (at the Center for Aeronautical and Space Science and Technology, CCTAE/IDMEC/LAETA). He was awarded his Master's degree (1999) and his Ph. D. (2006) in Aerospace Engineering by Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade de Lisboa. He is participating in the EU-funded project Environmentally Friendly Aviation for all Classes of Aircraft (EFACA, 2023-2026). He also participated in 7 internationally funded research projects (PARE 2017-2020, EVooATM 2018-2019, NACRE 2006-2009, VELA 2003-2005, NEFA 2003-004 and S-Wake 2001-2003). Main Courses: He teaches Aircraft Performance, Aeronautical Systems Design, Modeling and Simulation, and Manufacturing Processes. Throughout his life, he has taught Engineering Mechanics, Introduction to Aeronautical Engineering, Aircraft Propulsion, Aircraft Stability and Control, Air Traffic Management, and Aircraft Design. Professor Marques is Vice-Chair of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering of the University of Évora (since October 2020), he was vice-chair of the Aeronautical Science Department of Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies (between March 2010 and January 2012) and coordinator of the Aeronautical Engineering degree at Atlântica University (between September 2016 and September 2020). His current research focuses on stability and control of new aircraft configurations, greening of aviation, renewable energy modeling, and air transport management (ATM). He co-authors 14 papers in ISI journals, 4 chapters in books, and more than 20 communications to symposia. Professor Joaquim Guerreiro Marques has been awarded a Silver Award for Best Written Paper in 2017 by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS).
