I have a Bachelors in Marine Biology from the University of Stirling, Scotland which I completed in 2018 and a Masters degree in Marine and Coastal Systems from the University of the Algarve which I completed in 2020. I have been working in a scientific capacity for the past year at the CIMA Institute at the University of the Algarve, Gambelas Campus where my focus has been on the phytoplankton species of the Algarve coast and , in particular, on harmful algal bloom (HAB) events and the factors which cause them. My skills include microscopy, both inverted and epifluorescent, taxonomic identification of phytoplankton organisms, analysis of Chla and nutrients using spectophotometric techniques and various sampling techniques. Furthermore, I have taught microscopy techniques to both Bachelor and Master students and have assisted in practical classes teaching taxonomic identification.
