Concluiu a Licenciatura e o Mestrado Integrado em Medicina pela Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Coimbra (FMUC) em 2010. Concluiu o internato de formação específica em Oftalmologia no Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra (CHUC), tendo recebido o grau de especialista em Oftalmologia em Abril de 2016. Em Maio de 2016 obteve o grau de Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology. Em Abril de 2023 defendeu a sua tese de Doutoramento na FMUC, tendo sido aprovado com distinção e louvor, por unanimidade. Exerce a sua atividade clínica assistencial no CHUC, onde é o responsável pela Consulta de Oftalmogenética e membro das secções de Retina Médica e Cirúrgica. Integra o Retinal Dystrophies Expert Committee do EVICR.net desde 2016 e foi Coordenador do Grupo de Patologia Oncológica e Genética Ocular da Sociedade Portuguesa de Oftalmologia para o biénio 2021-2022. Exerce investigação clínica no CHUC e AIBILI e é grader no Coimbra Ophthalmology Reading Center. É Professor Auxiliar Convidado da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Coimbra desde 2024 - Unidade Curricular de Oftalmologia. Publicou mais de 50 artigos em revistas peer-reviewed e foi galardoado com múltiplos prémios e bolsas de investigação, quer a nível nacional, quer a nível internacional.
