Anna Maria Pompili is an auxiliary researcher at the Human Language Technologies (HLT) laboratory at NESC-ID, Lisbon. Presently, she is engaged in the Accelarat.AI project, which aims to develop innovative conversational AI solutions to enhance remote customer experiences and drive digital transformation in Portugal. With a career spanning over 20 years, split between industry and academia, Anna's research focuses on human language technologies, particularly speech-based solutions for healthcare applications - an area to which she has devoted her academic journey. In a broader context, Anna's research interests extend to the application of natural language processing and machine learning solutions aimed at enhancing people's quality of life and addressing societal challenges. Throughout her career, she has actively contributed as a team member to numerous national and international projects covering diverse topics such as health (VITHEA, Biovisualspeech), heritage (PICCH, HOUDINI), and public security (AIDA, STARLIGHT). Anna has co-authored 17 peer-reviewed publications in conferences and scientific journals within the field, earning recognition through several awards for the contributions to healthcare research.
