Carlos Silva is assistant professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal. He obtained a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in 2013. He is an Integrated Member of the Associated Laboratory for Energy, Transports and Aeronautic and, between 2013 and 2015, he served as Facility Engineer for the laboratory infrastructure of the Manufacturing and Industrial Management unit of Instituto Superior Técnico. He worked as invited assistant professor at the Faculty of Engineering of Catholic University of Portugal in 2013. His research interests are mainly focused in metal forming, joining technologies and additive manufacturing, being co-author of more than 130 papers in international journals and conferences.
