Beatriz Sales Bandarra completed her Bachelor in Environmental Engineering in 2016 and her Master in Environmental Engineering with Specialization in Technology and Environmental Management in 2018 at the University of Coimbra (UC). She received a grant for a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) for one month from COST. The STSM was conducted at ECT Oekotoxikologie GmbH (Germany) with expertise in a broad range of ecotoxicity tests with aquatic and terrestrial organisms. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student fellow in Environmental Engineering at the UC since 2019. She is a Researcher in the Chemical Process Engineering and Forest Products Research Centre (CIEPQPF) of the UC. The Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM) of the University of Aveiro is also a hosting institution for her Ph.D. project. She received a FCT grant for her Ph.D. project from October 2019 to November 2023. Her core field of research has been ecotoxicology, physicochemical characterization of waste, waste classification, and waste valorization. So far, she published 7 articles in peer-reviewed international journals and 2 book chapters. She presented 2 conference posters and 3 oral presentations. She co-supervised 5 MSc dissertations and collaborated in the supervision of 2 other MSc dissertations. In her professional activities interacted with 13 collaborators in the co-authorship of scientific papers.
