Deolinda Santinha (DS) holds a BSc in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences from the Polytechnic University of Coimbra and an MSc in Biomedical Research from the University of Coimbra. She recently completed her PhD as part of the Inter-University Doctoral Program in Ageing and Chronic Diseases at the University of Coimbra, in association with NOVA University of Lisbon and the University of Minho. Her doctoral thesis was supervised by Lino Ferreira, PhD, and greatly benefited from the contribution of Alessandro Ori, PhD, who was then at the Leibniz Institute on Aging, Jena (Germany). There, she spent several months developing a mass spectrometry-based proteomics strategy to analyse left ventricular composition and remodelling during chronological and pathological ageing (Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS)) in mice and humans. She has made significant scientific contributions, including more than 15 peer-reviewed publications, a book chapter, numerous conference presentations, and involvement in organising academic events. She has also collaborated on several major research projects in the fields of biomedicine and biotechnology. Her technical expertise covers a range of biomolecular methods, including proteomics, lipidomics, enzyme assays, and more. She also has extensive experience in data analysis and visualisation using the R programming language. In addition, her training in biostatistics and data interpretation enables to draw meaningful insights that support robust scientific conclusions. She is passionate about advancing science and health through innovative, challenging projects. As a persistent, committed, collaborative, and proactive professional, she value teamwork, integrity, quality, and the pursuit of novel solutions to complex problems.
