I completed my Doctorate in Health Psychology at Ispa - Instituto Universitário in 2011. Currently, I hold the position of Auxiliary Researcher at the William James Center for Research (WJCR). I have also pursued post-graduation studies in cognitive-behavioral therapy through the Associação Portuguesa de Terapias Comportamental, Cognitiva e Integrativa (APTCCI) and received additional training in cognitive therapy at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Philadelphia, USA, and at the Milton H. Erickson Foundation in Phoenix, USA. Throughout my career, I have made significant contributions to the field. I have published 74 papers in peer-reviewed journals, along with 26 short reports in conference proceedings. Additionally, I have authored or co-authored 14 book chapters and 6 books. At scientific events, I have presented 137 posters and 68 oral communications. Moreover, I have supervised or co-supervised 52 Master's theses and 3 PhD theses in the areas of Clinical and Health Psychology, which have been successfully concluded. Currently, I am supervising/co-supervising 5 PhD students, with 4 of them holding grants from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). My research collaborations have extended internationally, involving researchers from Italy, England, Spain, Brazil, Ecuador, Serbia, the USA, and Germany. These collaborations span various health-related fields, including Psychology, Gynecology, Nutrition, and Pneumology. My area of expertise is translational research and my interests lie within the field of Middle-Aged Women's Health and Sustainable Food Behaviours, encompassing topics such as managing menopausal symptoms and their impact on quality of life, weight gain and factors associated with obesity maintenance, weight and urinary incontinence management in menopausal women, food literacy and sustainability behaviours. In my research, I employ a range of methodologies, including mixed-methods approaches and randomized controlled trials. I have also contributed to the development and validation of assessment instruments. Beyond academic publications, I have written (with a co-author) 6 books targeting the general public, with a particular focus on children's books that integrate psychological principles to promote self-efficacy, healthy technology use, positive body image and self-esteem, sleep hygiene, and emotional self-regulation. Furthermore, I actively engage in outreach activities and have participated in numerous interviews with newspapers, magazines, radio, and TV. I have also taken part in various webinars and outreach events, including appearances on platforms such as RTP, RTP Internacional, TSF, Observador, CNN, SIC, Sábado, and Visão.
