Maria do Rosário Correia graduates in in Physic and Chemistry teaching, in 1989 by University of Aveiro. In 1997 obtained the Master graduation with a dissertation entitled “Diamond excellence material for optical fundamental studies”, where the Si optical center at 1,68 eV was investigated. In 2005 received her PhD in Physics with a thesis entitled "Studies of electronic and vibration transitions on InxGa1-xN thin films" by the University of Aveiro. Currently she is Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics, University of Aveiro and is a member of the Associated I3N laboratory. The, research work has been focused mainly on optical characterization by Raman and Photoluminescence involving a vast family of materials, including various semiconductor oxides, graphene, III-V and III- N Nanowires, perovskite and chalcogenide materials. The relevance of her work is evident in the more than 100 publications and about 1700 citations (h-index 18) in different fields of applied physics. She has oriented and co-directed several master's theses and more than a dozen bachelor thesis; supervised postdoctoral work and several research grants integrated into different funded projects; has participated in national and international doctoral theses juries; currently supervises two Doctoral theses and a Master's thesis dedicated to semiconductor heterostructures for application in optoelectronics and photovoltaic.
