from the University of Porto, with 405h and 15 ECTS. The student is researching helminthes in different species of chondrichthyans
caught off the south coast of Portugal obtained as by-catch of crustacean trawlers operating in the region. Among the possible
parasites to be found, the species of the genus Anisakis have special relevance, since they are zoonotic species and may cause
food security problems.

of Algarve for the experimental study in marine biology with a total of 336h and 12 ECTS. This consisted of the collection
of elasmobranchs eco-biological data as for information regarding the fishing activity. Also, the student helped treat the
data and collect further ecobiological information from sharks and skates in the laboratory helping with other activities
from the project DELASMOP, such as the skates survival assays.

ca. 220 students from 5 to 12 years old. The students watched a small animation designed primarily to present deep-sea elasmobranchs
and their particularities. There were board games and sensibilization activities. The students saw the skin and jaws of deep-sea
sharks under the magnifier. Infographics and a mock-up aquarium with deep-sea elasmobranchs miniatures in clay were also presented. (2021/11/08 - 2021/11/09)
