Mário Vala was born in Leiria, Portugal, in 1996. He received the undergraduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronics & Computers, from the School of Technology and Management (ESTG) of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPL), Portugal, in 2017. He also received the MsC degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunications, with the theme "Electronically Reconfigurable FSS-Inspired Transmitarray for Two Dimensional Beamsteering for 5G and RADAR Applications at 28 GHz", from the School of Technology and Management (ESTG) of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPL), Portugal, in 2019. He is a researcher at the Antennas & Propagation (A&P-Lr) research group at Instituto de Telecomunicações, Leiria, Portugal. He is currently working towards the PhD degree under the theme: "Radiowave Propagation in Wildfires", at Instituto Superior Técnico of University of Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal. He has co-authored 3 articles in international journals and 22 papers in national and international conferences. He has also received 8 awards, 3 of which were awarded by the Directorate General for Higher Education (DGES) due to his exceptional classifications on the curricular units in 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017.
